About the Founder
Nabil Bedewi is of Lebanese and Armenian origin. He was born in Egypt, raised in Kuwait, and has lived in the United States since 1979. He is married, and he and his wife have one daughter.
Nabil retired as a professor after a long and rewarding career in both industry and academia. Over 29 years, he worked in Information Technology and Project Management, always drawn to the challenge of making complex systems clearer and more usable. His academic foundation spans three disciplines: a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering, a Master of Science in Systems Engineering, and a Doctor of Science in Engineering Management with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence. That path shaped the way he thinks and the way he teaches: simplify, clarify, empower.
Service has always been part of his life. He has been a Rotarian since 2007 (now with the Rotary Club of Rockville). He also founded Believe in Belize, an all-volunteer Maryland nonprofit corporation, and served as its Managing Director for more than seven years. In mid 2025, he turned it over to three Rotary Clubs in Belize to focus fully on Sharkproof Living™, a movement designed to help people navigate what once felt overwhelming with confidence.
In his free time, Nabil enjoys watching sports and exploring history. These interests reflect his curiosity and appreciation for both human achievement and the lessons the past offers.
